New Week, New Standards

Today we began work on standard:
SSCG6 The student will demonstrate knowledge of civil liberties and civil rights.
a. Examine the Bill of Rights with emphasis on First Amendment freedoms.
b. Analyze due process law expressed in the 5th and 14th Amendments.
c. Explain selective incorporation of the Bill of Rights.
d. Explain how government seeks to maintain the balance between individual liberties and the public interest.
e. Explain every citizen’s right to be treated equally under the law.

Below you will find the study Guide ofr chapters 19 and 20.

Tuesday quiz

Today we completed our information over the powers of government. Be sure that you pick up the sheets from class upon your return. No homework but remember the test is scheduled for Friday.

Get ready

25 questions tomorrow covering portions of standards 3, 4, and 5.Be sure that you take a look at the six principles of government, how the Constitution is amended (informal and formal), and the chapter vocab. Look carefully at the charts on separation of powers and checks and balances.
